Good Governance
Good governance describes how public institutions conduct public affairs and manage public resources. Governance is "the process of decision-making and the process by which decisions are implemented (or not implemented)" [UNESCAP, What is Good Governance?]. The core function of the Ombudsman is to foster good administration within Government ministries and agencies to the satisfaction of the stakeholders – the people of Samoa.

Persons with Disabilities - Public Survey
NHRI Launches Disability Survey and Case Study
The Office of the Ombudsman is currently conducting research for its second state of human rights report - this time focusing on the rights of persons with disabilities.
We want to hear your views and would love for you to fill out the survey below. This will form part of the findings and recommendations that will be submitted to Parliament later this year.
If you have a disability, care for, work with, teach or simply know a person with a disability and have a story to tell we'd love to hear from you. We want to know what it is like living with a disability in Samoa, the good and the bad. Tell us about yourself using the case study link below. We will feature some of the most relevant stories (anonymously) in our final report.
General Survey (for all Samoan residents, with or without a disability)
Human Rights
Human rights are about respect, dignity, equality, and security for everyone, everywhere, everyday.
Human rights are about relationships among and between individuals, groups and the State. They are about how we live together and inform us of our responsibilities to each other.
Human rights are about life, education, health, work, personal security, equal opportunity and fair treatment.
